A Guide To Property Renting - Before and After

Are you ready to rent a property of your very own? A place to live that is closer to the place you work or study? Or maybe you want to try your luck in a different city?

Whatever the reason, here you will find detailed insights into the renting process from the beginning to the very end.

1. Find The Right Home For You

First things first, you have to identify an appropriate property. However, before you do this you should put together a comprehensive list of requirements. For instance, if you have a cat then one of your requirements would be: a landlord that accepts pets, if youre looking to share a property with a roommate a further one would be a landlord whos looking for at least two tenants. Once youve written down everything youll be ready to start hunting. Start your search over the internet and through local newspapers regularly check the listings in your area. You can also ask your relatives and friends if they something about a property for rent in your desired area. Dont worry if nothing comes up that fulfils your needs straightaway. The process can take some time.

2. Meet The Landlord

Have you found a rentable home that looks appealing? Then you need to meet its owner. Remember, this is one of the most vital parts of the entire process. If you dont like what you see or hear during this meeting you shouldnt move forward. Before you speak to them face to face try to run a check on their background. Do this by running the landlords name through a search engine and asking about them on tenancy forums. You need to know whether they have a good reputation. Have any court proceedings ever been launched against them? If they have, you may want to look elsewhere. Dont forget, theyll be looking to find out all about you too! Found a well-respected landlord and met them in person? Great. Just dont sign the tenancy agreement until youve read it thoroughly.

3. Move In

Now that you signed an agreement you can start to think about how youll move all your possessions in. Although before you begin you should check the current condition of the property. Are any cracks already in the walls? How faded is the paint? Are the appliances showing signs of wear and tear? Document everything and take pictures make sure that anything you find cannot be blamed on you. If possible you should arrange a walkthrough with your landlord. This way youll be able to point all the defects. And get your landlord to confirm theyre aware of them. With that done you can arrange the rooms and furniture in the property as you see fit your landlord wont mind.

4. Prepare To Move Out

Theyll come a time when you want to leave the property. It could be because you want something bigger, or you can now afford to buy your own home. The cause doesnt matter, how you leave does. The first thing you need to do is get in touch with your landlord. Tell them youre going to move out and provide a preliminary date. Please note, theyll want their property to be how it was when you first moved in. That means youve got to clean every inch. This includes the kitchen and bathroom appliances, flooring, carpeting, ceilings, walls, and so much more.

Before doing this yourself make sure youve got all the tools and cleaning solutions necessary. You may be required to use the service of end of tenancy cleaners check your tenancy agreement. If this is the case dont worry. There are literally hundreds of companies. Most teams are reasonably priced, fully trained, and experienced. Move out cleaners are familiar with the whole security deposit issue and they know what they're doing.

5. Get Your Deposit Back

If the property is as clean as possible give your landlord a call. Sometime in the near future theyll travel to your former home and perform a detailed evaluation. Afterwards theyll get in touch by phone or email and tell you the results. Thats it!

A Guide on How to Use Airdrop on Mac and iOS Device

A Guide on How to Use Airdrop on Mac and iOS Device

Using AirDrop, you can wirelessly transfer files between two Mac systems. File transfer is possible even if the two Macs are not connected to the same wireless network. It is a feature that makes AirDrop an amazing tool. In this article, you will read more about this file sharing tool and understand how to use AirDrop on Mac.

Where to Find AirDrop?

To use this tool, first you need to open AirDrop on your Mac. You can open it from the Share menu and also from the Finder. Once you open the tool on your system, it will automatically look for nearby devices that are having an opened AirDrop window. You can use this tool not just to send files to other Mac device but also to iOS devices. But for that your computer must run on Yosemite Mac OS X and the receiving iOS device should have on iOS 7 or a later version. If your Mac doesnt have Yosemite but has OS X Lion or later versions, then your AirDrop can send files only to other Mac system that is within the 30 feet range.

To use this tool, it is essential that you should be able to see your recipients device icon on your AirDrop window. If you can see your recipients devices icon on your AirDrop window, then you will be able to send and receive files easily.

How to use airdrop on Mac: Sending Files

Open Finder.
Then, select 'Go > AirDrop.
Once the AirDrop window opens, you will be able to see the nearby devices (within 30 feet) that can accept files sent from your Mac.
Keep that window open, and then drag and drop the files onto the icon of the device to which you want to send the file.
Then, click Send.

Possible Problems in Using AirDrop on Mac

It might happen that in the AirDrop window you dont see the receiving device. In that case, you wont be able to transfer files.

To troubleshoot this problem, you can try out the following tweaks:

Confirm that the AirDrops window is open on the recipients computer
Make sure that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on both the devices
Make sure that both the devices are within the distance of 30 feet
Check and confirm that in both the senders and recipients devices the visibility option is set to Everyone or Contacts only.

Using AirDrop on Mac: Receiving Files

Receiving the files is very useful if you are using AirDrop between Mac and iPad/iPhone, and both the devices are using the common iCloud account. As a result, the sent files will get automatically received on the recipients device.

But, if you are sending files to iOS devices connected to different iCloud accounts, then the recipient has to accept the incoming file.

The recipient will get a notification about an incoming file.
The recipient first needs to accept the incoming file, and then only the file transfer takes place.
After accepting the invitation, the recipient has to click Save.
Then, the incoming file will get saved in the Downloads folder.
In case of iOS device users, the file will get downloaded in respective folders. For example, photos get downloaded in the Pictures app.

Conclusion

With these steps, you have learned how to use AirDrop on Mac for sending and receiving files from other Apple devices. If you are using Mac OS X version below Yosemite, then you can share files only with Mac systems and not iOS devices. But if you are a Yosemite user, then you can send and receive files from Mac as well as iOS devices, but only iOS 7 and above versions.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF RELATIONSHIPS FROM THE 70'S TO NOW

A Brief History Of Relationships From The 1970's To Now
Sandra Levy Ceren, Ph.D

In the last century divorce was less accepted and people stayed in ungratifying marriages for security. In the mid to late 1970's, a radical change occurred. Anti- discrimination laws allowed women to pursue careers never before readily available to them. Women no longer needed men for financial security or status. They gained satisfaction from their professional lives.

But, this brought a downside. Now women may be more stressed from work pressures or balancing career and family life.

Gradually, an openness toward sexual expression occurred and with it, a willingness to experiment with more partners. The value of monogamy began to erode bringing open marriage to the fore, but with the increase and awareness of sexually transmitted disease, many couples became more willing to commit to marriage.

Now living together without marriage has become more acceptable, allowing couples a chance to see how they get along together in shared quarters over time.

An increase in unwed mothers has occurred, especially with professional women. Single parent adoption offers an option to those without mates who want a family life. Better birth control is available. Abortion is no longer shunned in many quarters.

The arrival of the computer offers people instant intimacy online. If someone is already mated, these exciting relationships can destroy a primary relationship.

The younger woman/older man relationship still exists, but it is not as common among women satisfied with their own status as was the case thirty years ago.

Most women still prefer men who are strong, and have equal status to them.

There remain women with a strong need to control who prefer men who are passive and dependent. This arrangement may work for some couples.

Men are learning to adjust to assertive women.

Men are becoming more interested in shared parenting and show a willingness to share household tasks. They are accepting an equalization of roles more so than ever before.

Many emotionally healthy couples have come to value cooperation and see marriage as a true partnership. The partner who prefers to do, or does best a particular household task should do it regardless of gender. The woman may enjoy handling the bills and the man may prefer kitchen duties.

Laws regarding spousal abuse have made it no longer tolerated or ignored as much as it had been in the past, but it still exists.

Psychological healthy couples don't jump into marriage. They realize it is better to get to know each other gradually. They are becoming aware of the necessity for respect and understanding of each other, to see each other as individuals with separate needs, to engage in activities with friends, career, recreational activities that do not have to be shared with a mate.

Healthy couples are tolerant of each other. They realize that not everyone feels, thinks or acts the same way, but they do share core values, integrity, fidelity, trust, respect, a willingness to be there for each other for their common good. They engage in a strong partnership, not a fly-by-night-see-you-later arrangement. They do not have doubts about each other.

People are more willing to enter therapy in attempt to save their marriage. They appear more serious about preserving what they have, and making it better. I see fewer serial relationships today than in former years. There appears to be a return of traditional life style with a nice twist: Stay at home Dads. More fathers take an active role in child rearing than ever before.

A grandfather took his toddler grandson to a birthday and was terrified to change the diaper. All the young dads were surprised that he hadn't done it for his children.

There are more second marriages with children from previous marriages. This often presents problems. A blended family where the children are his, hers and theirs is complicated and takes a lot of compassion and understanding and a willingness to make it better.

Second marriages also can present another set of financial considerations with an assortment of bank accounts: his, hers, theirs.

Some things never change: Jealousy among the insecure continues to be the same threat as always. When couples are conflicted, frustrated and need therapy, prescriptions must be tailored for each couple. Basic things they need to work on continue to be communication skills, learning how to listen and putting oneself in the other's shoes.

A Brief History Of Major Bitcoin Crashes Over The Years

A Brief History Of Major Bitcoin Crashes Over The Years

A Brief History Of Major Bitcoin Crashes Over The Years

he price of Bitcoin has dropped to an unbelievable 64.5% since 17th December 2017. The mutual market capitalization of the industry now is at just $338 billion.
Thats a big drop for any market. However, a price crash in Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency is nothing new. Bitcoin usually takes a step back and comes back to life on a usual basis. According to a source Bitcoins death toll stands at 249 and counting, dating back to 2010.

Whats Causing The Bitcoin Crash?

A whole slide of bad news has led to a huge dip in the crypto economy. Bitfinex is drawing the rage of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission because the exchange site offers users an alternative to tether their currency to the American dollar. The doubtful thing about that is neither Bitfinex nor Tether can essentially prove they have adequate money in bank accounts to back up the USDT token.

India which homes to a large number of bitcoin traders and investors is cracking down on traders. The countrys government is reviewing transactions on multiple exchanges in order to try and collect tax revenue. Estimates hint that in every 10 bitcoin transactions in the world takes place in India ( Approx .$3.5 billion in transactions in last 17 months).

And then there are South Korean authorities with major confusion on how to proceed with the regulations. The country has no intention to ban cryptocurrency trading outright. But the government has taken steps to remove vagueness from the equation. South Korean traders must now use their real names in order to open a virtual account and do the transaction.

The last coup de grace is added when China reportedly blocked everyone in the country from accessing websites that offer cryptocurrency trading services or initial coin offerings (ICOs). Advertisements relating to Bitcoin and other virtual currencies have also been scrubbed from search engines and social media in the country.

All of this has contributed to the crypto bloodbath.

Its not just the crypto market thats feeling the burn. The Dow Jones Industrial Average just smacked a three-week low due to rising US government bond yields.

Dealing with the lows

Even most novice investors are aware of the old saying buy low, sell high. May be this is the perfect time to get into this. Looking at the above chart, Bitcoins nastiest crash lasted 411 days, ending in January of 2015. The crash sent bitcoins price dropping 87%.

At the time of writing this article, the price is down 64.5% in the last 51 days. If that happened in the stock market, news media outlets would call it 2008 recession all over again.

In the case of cryptocurrency, increased regulation is the reason for the crash. Thats definitely bad news for short-term investors. Those optimistic on the long-run however see regulation as a compulsory step in the continuing fight to legitimize cryptocurrency and bring it further into the land of mass adoption.

A Brief History of Magazines

A Brief History of Magazines

A Brief History of Magazines

Magazines have been around for many years. Of course, they began in a typical fashion, as simply words that were written down to attract customers. The actual history of the magazine can be traced back to the newspaper industry. The newspaper industry wanted to do more in-depth articles and articles that required much more research than the columns that were featured on a daily basis. From time to time, the larger newspapers included a weekly insert section that was smaller and portable. These inserts would include longer stories, in-depth interviews, and of course, photographs. It was in these inserts that the first magazines were born.

When newspapers began, it was simply a way of communicating news. At times, reporters would work around the clock in order to make a piece of news available to the world. Newspapers became immensely popular because, in those days, people looked to the papers for breaking news. Newspapers became a reliable source for current information.

However, because of this trend, some reporters were frustrated by the fact that they did not have time to do in depth stories. Newspaper editors and owners wanted to explore the possibility of putting out an expanded version of their papers, but they didn't want to sacrifice the money that the daily newspapers brought in. Because of this, some of the biggest newspapers had the idea to put inserts in their weekend editions. They would have an insert that would have longer length stories and photos. These stories would be worked on by reporters all week, so they were able to be more detailed. Then, they would be put out once a week by the papers.

Of course, this was an idea that soon took off. The readers loved having these small inserts to be able to take with them and read at their leisure. The newspaper editors soon realized that there would be a market for newspaper-like publications. These publications would hold news as well as other public interest stories, but they wouldn't be put out every day. This would give the staff the chance to write longer and more interesting stories, and to do in-depth research that would allow them to give even more information. These editors soon became the first magazine editors.

After the induction of the magazines, they all started out in the same way. They were basically longer length news papers, giving versions of the news and sometimes some public interest stories. However, as time went on, and people became more interested in the world around them at large, magazines began to realize that they would benefit from being specialized. For instance, as voting numbers grew in the United States, magazines began to come out that dealt only with election news and politics. These soon had a niche, and other magazines started to be published.

Nowadays, magazines can be found on many different topics. In fact, there are hardly any niches left to fill for magazine hopefuls. Schools put out magazines for various reasons, as do companies and businesses. The industry has completely grown and flourished.

There are, of course, still general news magazines that have hit the stands for many weeks, year after year. These are magazines that focus on news stories, but that have longer and more in depth stories than newspapers can provide. These are all important magazines because they create many different opinions and call many issues to light.

The other side of the current magazine industry is known as gossip magazines. These are magazines that focus on the people, and often focus on gossip that relates to celebrities and other people that are well known. These magazines sometimes contain correct information, and sometimes contain information that is not factual. However, they are still magazines and they still have readership.

All in all, magazines work together to fill an important niche. Unlike non-fiction books, that can take months to put out into the market, and unlike newspapers, that need to be put out each day, magazines have a unique time frame. They are put out each week, every two weeks, each month, or in longer increments. This means that they can still put out news that is current and fresh, but that their reporters can take the time that they need to provide their readers will well written stories.

2018 Facebook Changes Put Community First

The Low-Down Facebooks Latest Changes and How They Affect Your Business

No doubt Facebook has dramatically changed how businesses are marketed online. With over 2 billion users Facebook offers exposure to a powerhouse of potential customers.

That's why when Mark Zuckerberg announced some big changes in January, it drew many concerns with business owners on how their posts will have a reduced visibility in their followers newsfeed.

Heres what you need to know and do about these changes:

The focus of the new changes is actually very holistic. Facebook is all about creating community. These changes are an attempt to help users find relevant content and to have more meaningful social interactions.

In a nutshell that means people want to see information from their family and friends. They don't want to be bothered with irrelevant posts from businesses, brands and media.

So how do you deal with Facebook's algorithm changes as a business?

QUALITY
First of all, you need to focus on quality versus quantity of content. Relevance takes on a whole new meaning now. Take time to create really juicy posts your audience can't resist.

Focus on what your ideal target market wants to receive from you. Will they be entertained? Educated? Inspired? Leave everything else out and only focus on those three things.

ENGAGEMENT
Engagement is everything. With every post your goal is to stir up a conversation. Ask for opinions. Get them to share their advice and stories.

Now more than ever you need to develop a tribe of people who love to be connected and can't wait to engage with you. Take advantage of Facebook Live being the hottest trend right now that typically generates a lot of engagement.

AUTHENTICITY
Don't try tricky posts that get people to comment and share on a post. Using tactics like clickbait and sensationalized fake news or other means to try and trick the algorithms are one of the reasons why these changes occurred.

Moreover, engagement bait tactics can get you in trouble. The Facebook algorithm can detect such tactics that try to coerce people to engage.

Instead, have the intention of sharing good content from your heart. Be authentic. Make your posts so amazing that people will naturally want to share them.

MUSIC
Facebook and Universal Music Group signed a deal to allow users to upload songs in videos. This means users can now share videos containing music from UMGs artists without having the videos removed due to copyright violations as they have been in the past.

So now you can we open up creativity, connection and innovation through music as you build your social media community.

In other words, rock out with your peeps! Now you can without copyright infringement by choosing songs by Universal Music Group artists.

In the end, the people who help, entertain, inform, and serve their communities will win. So stop worrying about marketing and focus on serving your fans and followers.

2012 - Basic Tools You Need To Survive 2012

2012 - Basic Tools You Need To Survive 2012

2012 - Basic Tools You Need To Survive 2012

We are talking here about killing devices to hunt and to protect yourself. When the electricity and all current technologies are gone, people will need to use some primitive techniques to survive.

KILLING DEVICES
There are several killing devices that you can construct to help you obtain small game to help you survive.
The rabbit stick, the spear, the bow and arrow, and the sling are such devices.

RABBIT STICK
One of the simplest and most effective killing devices is a stout stick as long as your arm, from fingertip to shoulder, called a "rabbit stick." You can throw it either overhand or sidearm and with considerable force. It is best thrown so that it flies sideways, increasing the chance of hitting the target. It is very effective against small game that stops and freezes as a defense.

SPEAR
You can make a spear to kill small game and to fish. Jab with the speardo not throw it.

BOW AND ARROW
You can construct a suitable short-term bow fairly easily. When it loses its spring or breaks, you can replace it.

1. Select a hardwood stick about 1 meter (3 feet) long that is free of knots or limbs. Carefully scrape the large end down until it has the same pull as the small end. Careful examination will show the natural curve of the stick. Always scrape from the side that faces you, or the bow will break the first time you pull it. Dead, dry wood is preferable to green wood.
2. To increase the pull, lash a second bow to the first, front to front, forming an "X" when viewed from the side. Attach the tips of the bows with cordage and only use a bowstring on one bow.
3. Select arrows from the straightest dry sticks available. The arrows should be about half as long as the bow. Scrape each shaft smooth all around. You will probably have to straighten the shaft.
You can bend an arrow straight by heating the shaft over hot coals. Do not allow the shaft to scorch or burn. Hold the shaft straight until it cools. You can make arrowheads from bone, glass, metal, or pieces of rock. You can also sharpen and fire-harden the end of the shaft. Fire hardening is actually a misnomer. To fire-harden wood, hold it over hot coals or plunge it deep under the coals in the ashes, being careful not to burn or scorch the wood. The purpose of fire hardening is to harden the wood by drying the moisture out of it.

4. You must notch the ends of the arrows for the bowstring.
Cut or file the notch; do not split it. Fletching (adding feathers to the notched end of an arrow) improves the arrow's flight characteristics. Fletching is recommended but not necessary on a field-expedient arrow.

SLING
You can make a sling by tying two pieces of cordage, each about 60 centimeters (24 inches) long, at opposite ends of a palmsized piece of leather or cloth. Place a rock in the cloth and wrap one cord around your middle finger and hold in your palm. Hold the other cord between your forefinger and thumb. To throw the rock, spin the sling several times in a circle and release the cord between your thumb and forefinger. Practice to gain proficiency.
The sling is very effective weapon to survive against small game.

In order to survive the real world after the 2012 events, it is clear that we need to make sure we have those tools to protect ourselves and to hunt for food. 1930 Newspaper Quilt Patterns Filled a Need and Entertained

During the Great Depression, Americans relied on their local newspapers for quite a lot. In some instances, the newspapers printed photos of the local high school's seniors who used that special edition in lieu of the yearbook the school could not afford to print. There were numerous children who served as a "paper boy," delivering newspapers to make a little extra money for their families.

Newspapers during that time also provided a service to quilters. Many newspapers published quilt patterns for their readers during the Great Depression.

1930 newspaper quilt patterns were especially common in rural areas of the United States. The Kansas City Star actually began printing patterns for quilters in 1926. The newspaper carried on the tradition until 1961. The quilt patterns were published weekly at first, then as interest seemed to dwindle, the patterns were printed monthly before being pulled from the publication all together. In all, just over 1000 quilt patterns were published by the Kansas City newspaper. Collectors have found copies of all of them and now offer a compilation for sale.

The Kansas City newspaper was not the only one to publish newspaper quilt patterns. Many other rural papers did the same.

The 1930 newspaper quilt patterns helped preserve part of the country's heritage. Even though times were tougher than ever economically, the 1930 newspaper quilt patterns focused on the things that were truly important to quilters of that day and served as an emotional boost as well.

One of the popular 1930 newspaper quilt patterns was "The Magic Vine." The design was presented as a series in a newspaper column written by Florence LaGanke Harris. In addition to providing the weekly quilt pattern, Harris wove a fictional story about a quilting group. Readers followed the antics of the group and its fictional leader, Nancy Page. As readers followed the goings-on of the imaginary quilting group, they also stitched along with each week's pattern. Readers were so engaged by the weekly column and quilting that they submitted their own quilt designs for consideration. The end result from Harris' column was a quilt of beautifully appliqud flowers with vines that entwined. Another of the popular 1930 newspaper quilt patterns included in Harris' weekly column was the "Memory Bouquet." The quilt featured 9x12 inch blocks appliqud with various flowers. Imagine the cheery look of the finished product with its hollyhock, tulips, violets, carnations, zinnias, jonquils and more!

The 1930 newspaper quilt patterns gave quilters much enjoyment. In addition to providing reasonably priced quilt patterns during The Great Depression era in the United States, the quilts also focused on an important part of life in the 1930's: the children. Many patterns for children featured nursery rhymes. Some quilts featured one single nursery rhyme while others compiled several children's favorites onto one quilt top. The patterns were designed so that they could be appliqud or embroidered. Redwork was popular at the time!

The 1930 newspaper quilt patterns were a direct reflection of life during the Great Depression. Quilters saved money by using the patterns. They continued providing necessary warmth for their families and offered the quilts they made from the 1930 newspaper patterns as gifts for many occasions.

If you would like to create your own quilt from 1930 newspaper quilt patterns, copied images or books will have to do. There are several collections available that could be appliqud, embroidered or hand painted. To find your own collection of 1930 newspaper quilt patterns, check your favorite hobby or book store for a book or dvd of all the available patterns. The Internet is another great source of finding 1930 newspaper quilt patterns.

15 Key Questions To Ask Before Choosing Office Movers

Whether home or office, relocating has in fact become a necessity in todays world. No doubt everyone seems to be moving from one place to another in search of a high standard of working environment, an office building with lesser rent, a strategic location, and the list just does not come to an end. Office moving does not take place on a frequent basis but it can become a compulsion because it cannot be avoided no matter how hard you try.

When the word relocation comes to ones mind, they find themselves in a daunting situation in which they cannot get the entire process carried out on their own, which is why they need help from professionals. It is such a tiresome and stressful task that involves packing, loading, moving, unloading, unpacking and rearranging the goods and equipment.

What are you equipped with to handle the above mentioned activities with ease and effectiveness?

Do you have the skills and experience needed? If you dont, it is strongly recommended that you get in touch with a reliable commercial removals company that is best known for delivering secure and reasonably priced office relocation services. But how you can connect with a trusted brand in a competitive market such as this is a tough question because it is not as easy as it sounds.

There are several ways you can find movers in your town - with the use of Internet, local newspapers, tv-radio ads, leaflets and many more. The fact that every customer looks forward to save their valuable time and money cannot be denied, and this is possible if they hire the unparalleled services of a professional moving team. When it comes to the latter, you should ask a number of key questions so that you can take a final decision on which brand to choose and why. They are as follows:

How many years of relevant experience does the company have?
Is the company certified and approved for local, domestic, business, and long-distance removals?
Do they provide moving insurance coverage in case your belongings come into close contact with fire, theft, or any other accident?
What is the expected delivery time for shifting the goods from one location to another?
What will happen if your items arrive before you?
How do you contact the company and the driver during the move?
What steps would they take if your goods have been damaged during the service?
What services do they offer for handling appliances?
How will your fragile and sensitive items be handled?
Are there any items that cannot be delivered to your new place and why?
Does the company have a storage facility for storing goods just in case?
Can your property be stored on a temporary basis?
What forms of payment do you accept?
Does the association have a cancellation policy?
Do they have any specific questions for you?

Its important to know if the experts have previously dealt with jobs of such nature. Have they moved an entire office worth of equipment before? You need to ask the above stated questions on the phone or online in order to evaluate any company you come across before booking office moving services.

Occasionally, you should check your company of choices online reviews on various social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more. This is the fastest way to determine if someone is worth your while, as you can compare different experiences other clients had with this firm. Asking your friends and neighbours is another good way of learning more about a specific brand.

When your service has been completed, dont forget to leave an online review yourself, as this way you are going to help others make their decision.

13 Steps to Mentalism by Corinda Revealed (free download)

Today, known throughout the world, Corinda has been acclaimed as inventor, writer, and teacher of Mentalism - the art of mind-reading. While on tour in America, his friends persuaded him to write a book and with the support of nearly every professional Mentalist in the world, Corinda set out to compile The Thirteen Steps to Mentalism.

After two years the series was published step by step. Without the advice of friends and invaluable assistance of the Puslisher, Harry Clarke, the task would have been impossible. However, Corinda succeeded in producing what has now become the most classic encyclopedia of mental magic. For this, he has received many honours - including recognition from The Magic Circle who awarded him membership to the Inner Circle with Gold Star - a covetous award.

My Review

If you're at all interested in mentalism, you really need this. It provides the foundation for 90% of what you're doing. It's not as if you'll be getting a series of hot routines out of this... it's more about the thinking and psychology that goes into the effects you're performing.

Yes, much of this might seem dated now, because so many mentalists have taken the ideas and principles in this book and improved them, modernized them, and made them their own... but it should still be part of your education to see where it all started.

I would also recommend Osterlind's excellent DVD series based on this book. It does a great job of bringing the material to life; however, don't make the mistake of thinking the DVDs are an adequate substitute. It'd be impossible to distill this entire book into a set of DVDs. You really do still need the book.

I found this book to be very long winded. A lot of complicated material in here, but also very good material. I can't really say this is the beginner's book to mentalism. When I got it I was a beginner and found a lot of it very hard to do. There is a ton of really nice information in here but it's not all the most practical. And comparing to today's modern mentalism acts, it doesn't really compare because of the variety. We are doing more direct effects now that it's only worth the read in my opiniion. Maybe you can branch off to other things, but it's up to you.

11 Steps to Achieving Greatness

11 Steps to Achieving Greatness

11 Steps to Achieving Greatness

1. You have to have big dreams, really big dreams. Decide what you want and go after it. No one who has achieved greatness had little expectations. You must expect more than anyone else expects from you.

2. You must have total control over your thoughts and actions. You have to believe in your abilities to achieve. You can achieve anything you desire with empowering thoughts. All experiences in your life will be a direct result of your dominant mental thoughts. Power and control over your thoughts and actions will have you achieving the greatest outcomes of your life. No one achieved greatness without being mentally tougher than their competition.

3. You have to have an awesome action plan to achieve your desired goals. If you don't have an awesome action plan, you will never achieve the goals that you desire. You have to be aware of what is working and what is not working. Don't hesitate to change your approach if you are not getting the results that you desire.

4. You have to look at failure as just an outcome. If you don't get the outcome that you desire, you must change your approach until you achieve the success you desire. Failure is just a chance to begin again with a more intelligent approach. You must learn from your failures. Failure must be a stepping stone to success and not a stumbling block. It doesn't matter how many times you fail, what matters is your dedication to your success. You must keep on chasing your dream until you make it happen. Failure should never be an option for you. You will win or learn, but you never should believe in failure as one of your options.

5. Success leaves clues. Model people who have achieved the results that you desire. Learn from the best of the best. Don't hang around the buzzards of the world. Soar with the eagles that fly high. You should network with achievers so that you are constantly pushing yourself to match their success.

6. Never stop learning. You must dedicate yourself to constant and never ending improvement. You must always strive to better yourself each and everyday.

7. You must strive to be a master of communication. The quality of your life will depend on the quality of your communication with yourself and with others. You must learn how to view each situation from your point of view and from other people's point of view. Most people who have achieved greatness have been master communicators.

8. Be a person who is constantly stretching their abilities. Always try to achieve outcomes that are currently beyond your abilities. You must dare to achieve outside of your comfort zone. Stretching your abilities will make you great. You must strive to be greater than your competition. Roosevelt said, "The only thing that we have to fear, is fear itself. Don't be afraid of anything because the greatest risk is the one you don't take.

9. You must never give up until you succeed. Thomas A. Edison failed close to 1,000 times before he succeed in giving us electricity. He was asked why he didn't quit and his reply was that he had ran out of options to try. He said, "I had no option but to succeed."

10. Ask yourself empowering questions everyday. When you wake up in the morning ask yourself, "What can I do to achieve greatness today?" "What can I do to get me closer to the success that I desire?" "What can I do to make me a better person?"

11. Visualize yourself as if you are already experiencing the success that you desire. You have to believe it before you see it. Visualize daily of the success that you desire until you are living the life that you have dreamed of.

Follow these steps and greatness will be in your future. The sky is no longer the limit, space is. Richard Branson is taking tourist to outer space for their vacations. If he didn't have vision and goals, he would never have become the success that he is today. You are the master of your destiny. You are the creator of your future. You can make your life as extraordinary as you desire. Dare to be great and manifest that greatness now.

I believe in you. Do you believe in you?

11 Interesting Topics to Talk About with Anyone

Any idiot can ramble on about in conversation and bore the bejesus out of their companions, and it is a legitimate fear for many that this embarrassing turn of events may happen to them at some point. We've all been there, stuck in conversation, trying to dig out of it by throwing everything we can think of out there. The best advice, however, is to simply find an interesting way to broach everyday questions. Here are 11 such questions.

1. Tell me about the most interesting person you've ever met.
Be careful with this though, as it tends to put your conversation partner on the spot, or make them feel uncomfortable. Try to bring this up as casually as possible.

2. If you could take a week and travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
This question is a fun way to both converse and fantasize at the same time. Your conversation partner will likely enjoy this question as it lets them escape their life for a brief time.

3. What is the one truly defining moment of your life so far?
This question offers your partner a chance to reflect on their triumphs and share their moments of glory with you.

4. What is the most spontaneous thing you've done lately?
Try to avoid asking this question if your partner seems in no way spontaneous. But chances are, if your conversation partner is spontaneous, they will be glad to share their latest adventure with you.

5. Who has influenced you the most?
This question offers your conversation partner an opportunity to share with you the person that has meant the most to them in their life. This makes for a very interesting topic in conversation.

6. What is the one thing you most want to do?
Though similar to question #2, the crucial difference is that your conversation partner's answer won't be restricted to places to travel to, thus helping expand the discussion.

7. What is your best inherited quality?
This is a great question to use to ask about someone's family in a unique and specific way.

8. Name your favorite thinker.
Most interesting people will have a favorite thinker or two, someone whose work they look to for inspiration. The conversation will lead to a deep topic people value.

9. Who is your favorite historical figure?
This is a fun (and usually harmless) way to discuss contentious topics, and is a great way to reveal your conversation partner's interest in academic matters. Effective conversation skills balances seriousness and fun.

10. Have you been to any good musical performances lately?
This is a much better question than "what type of music do you like" because most people respond "a little of everything." The answer to this question requires specifics, and also opens up questions about the performance.

11. What type of vacation do you prefer? Are you a relaxer or an explorer?
This is one of those questions that does double duty, as it both encourages your partner to fantasize about a dream vacation, but also reveals what type of personality they have.

10 Tips to Improve Your Reading Skills

10 Tips to Improve Your Reading Skills

10 Tips to Improve Your Reading Skills

In the modern age of information, reading truly is a fundamental survival skill. Here are ten tips that anyone can use to improve their reading skills:

1. You don't have to be a great reader to get the point.

Some people read fast and remember everything. Others read slowly and take a couple of times to get all the information. It doesn't matter, really, so long as when you read, you get the information you're seeking.

2. Know WHY you're reading.

Are you reading for entertainment or to learn something? Decide why you're reading before you start and you'll greatly improve your comprehension and your enjoyment.

3. You don't need to read everything.

Not every magazine, letter, and email you receive contains information you need. In fact, most of it is simply junk. Throw it away, hit the delete key! Just doing this will double the amount of time you have available to read.

4. You don't need to read all of what you DO read.

Do you read every article of every magazine, every chapter of every book? If so, you're probably spending a lot of time reading stuff you don't need.

Be choosy: select the chapters and articles that are important. Ignore the rest.

5. Scan before you read.

Look at the table of contents, index, topic headers, photo captions, etc. These will help you determine if, a) you have a real interest in this reading, and b) what information you're likely to get from it.

6. Prioritize your reading.

You can't read everything all at once (and wouldn't want to). If it's important, read it now. If it's not, let it wait.

7. Optimize your reading environment.

You'll read faster and comprehend more if you read in an environment that's comfortable for you.

8. Once you start, don't stop!

Read each item straight through. If you finish and have questions, go back and re-read the pertinent sections. If you don't have questions, you got what you needed and are ready to move on.

9. Focus.

Remember, you're reading with a purpose, so focus on that purpose and the material. If you lose interest or keep losing your place, take a break or read something else. You can keep track of where you are by following along with your hand. This simple technique helps you focus and increase your concentration.

10. Practice!

The more you read, the better reader you'll become (and smarter, too)! So, feed your mind: read!

10 Things and What it Means to Be More Marketable

10 Things and What it Means to Be More Marketable

10 Things and What it Means to Be More Marketable

Why should you consider the idea of being more marketable? Maybe the first question you have is, what does it even mean Greg, be more marketable? Im so glad you asked. And I have honestly had this question recently, and it got me thinking.
My intention when I started this business was to help people with their message, their copy, and their talks, so that they can then market themselves with confidence. Being more marketable means you reach more of your ideal people and make a bigger difference. It also means more confidence. Confidence gives you more courage to take the leap, the risks. Below are 10 things Ive identified to help you be more marketable and by extension, become more of the person or business owner you dream of being.

1. Be clear about whom, what and how

Whom is it that you most want to work with or serve? Even the gazillion individuals who buy a product, have defining characteristics that inform the personality or vibe of the group. The marketing teams job is to nail those characteristics. Gazillion or not, they have a clear bio of their buyers. Its way easier for us, with smaller markets and ideal clients. One of the reasons you hesitate to drill down is FOMO. Fear of missing out on a client. You wont, but you might miss out on working with someone you dont like or dont get. The other reason is not so nice of me to say, but here goes. Laziness.

Market research takes time. Finding out what the market wants vs I think Ill run a program, what should I charge? $497 sounds good. And no one shows up why? Because you didnt ask the market your people what they want, and if you dont know them well, your sales copy wont be speaking their language. If you arent clear, find a way to get there.

2. Be powerful in your message, your marketing, your pitch and your web-o-gram.

Say what you mean and why you are the expert, and not what everyone else says.

3. Be out there.

Yes, success in business and life is an inside job, but you must get outside to where the people are. Show up in person. Show up powerfully.

4. Be You the real you, the juicy one, the one who solves problems for your friends and family easily.

The one you see in your daydreams who is rocking it from stage or in a mastermind or selling like the experts.

5. Be the WOW your people crave.

Romance your tribe, your clients, yourself too.

6. Be generous with your best stuff; the valuable goods, not just fluff or filler.

When you can connect with people on a free level they are likely to want more.

7. Be anything but boring.

Dont be a talking head; read all of your written material aloud before you publish it and listen for the boring words and phrases. And remember, shorter is better.

8. Be consistent in your daily activities, but only the ones that bring you the return on your time investments that you want.

9. Be-lieve in what you do.

But really, truly, deeply. Or make it so you can. Change is always possible. If you dont, all of your marketing will fall flat and carry that subtle message.

10. Be courageous.

Be courageous where it counts; in love and in your full expression whether thats art, business, parenting, sales, or self. Doing work in all of these areas will result in you being more of many things, not just marketable. Once you ditch copycat marketing where one idea fits thousands and I know its easy to fall into thinking that will work then you can be seen and heard. Once you take time to write a unique, powerful, and clear message, youll feel confident, maybe even courageous. People follow people like that. And youll have the luxury to market less and become known for more.

Heres to being more marketable!

10 Innovative Product Launch Ideas that will Surely Work

10 Innovative Product Launch Ideas that will Surely Work

10 Innovative Product Launch Ideas that will Surely Work

Your products reputation way before its launch will define how its going to sell in the long run. How each product looks in a market is directly related to how it was pitched right before the launch. A lot of big corporations understand this and thus spend a lot in order to be sure about it, spend a lot of money to keep people engaged in the pre-launch marketing campaign. This campaign is required to be unique and somehow attractive enough that the product makes the most of its sales on the launch day.

There are several ideas to do that and well give you 10 that makes the product launches more productive for you. So in order to sell your product, and have a successful launch do:

Be people-centric: While presenting your product, forget what features your products have but think how they can affect people since at the end of the day its people you have to sell your products to. Let them know how your product can and will change their life. Make sure you emphasize the fact that your product is unique and no other product on the market can achieve the same.
Tease the customers: At least a month prior to the product launch, start a teaser campaign. It is much important to understand that this campaign can make a lot of difference in your product sale. People need to know that youre coming to the market with a new revolutionary product which they will know, with your teaser campaign.

Upload videos: Videos are a great example of spreading information fast and across a lot of people. To make them look impressive, hire a good videographer or a graphic designer who can comfortably work across different video platforms. Make sure the videos have music which engages. Be futuristic and be bold. Every video you pump out should scream class.

Engage Influence marketers: Another important factor which can shoot up your popularity and sale in the market would be the influence marketing. Influence marketing is a marketing technique by which you can increase the popularity and visibility of a product by having it promoted from the accounts of those who have a lot of fan following. These influencers can shift the public opinion easily. A study showed that 6% of the users on social media influence the opinion of over 80% total people.

Build suspense: Suspense is one of the greatest ways by which you can keep a wide number of the audience engaged in the launch of your product. People always have been curious. We always want to know that which is hidden from us. We wont shift our attention for a minute if it comes to trying to find out whats being concealed from us. For the same reason, It is imperative you keep your audience engaged by not showing the actual product until the launch day. No matter how great your product is, keep it hidden. Give outposts stating that your product is coming. Keep everything else hidden.
In the past, big companies have sued people for releasing in the market the features the corporation has been trying to protect their product. This marketing strategy is taken very seriously.

Pre-orders: If you have a loyal fan base and customer base, and have already decided on the cost of the product, you can sell your products on pre-order. Your loyal customers will buy every product you ship out; which depends highly on the performance of your previous product. Pre-orders can generate early profits and a valuable data of it. It also enhances the image of the product in the market.

Plan an event: Its important to give out your product in the grandest way possible. Hold a big event that will attract media attention and make your product launch look like a big deal. People love associating themselves with brands who believe themselves to be big.
Hold contests: Contests are a good way to get the word going around. Planning a contest around your product is a good idea too. This is because the contest can have them going out and making them promote your product easily and get rewarded for the same. This requires not a lot of money and is whole lots of fun.
Create buzz: Sending out the positive word to a lot of people is important. A simple mail sent to your loyal customers will make them talk about it a lot. Another thing that will create buzz is giving out promotional giveaways. Giving away free wristbands is another great way to make people talk about it. Wristbands will be able to make a lot of people be aware of your products and that too at a really fast pace.
Tell a story: Share stories of how your product brought about a change. Let people know that You have changed lives with your product and your customers will feel it coming too. Make inspiring videos, start campaigns and/or go on the talk show and tell people what makes your product be an important part of your story.

" So there you have it, 10 ways which will guarantee a successful product launch and make your product become a bestseller. "

A good nights rest can also improve your golf score! Thats a win-win situation right there.

9) Boost Your Confidence

You know that feeling when you tally up your final score and you did better than you thought? How about the thrill of finally sinking a hole-in-one?

That feeling can follow you long after youve left the links. One of the best benefits of golf is improved confidence.

Doing well on the fairway can be the shot in the arm you need. With improved confidence, youll feel motivated to go after that promotion at work or try something new with your partner.

10) Prolong Your Life

Weve already listed a lot of benefits of playing golf. Getting vitamin D, sleeping better, lowering blood sugar, and improving your overall health are just a few ways this game can help you.

But can it prolong your life?

While its not definite that golfing can add years to your life, all signs point to it being possible. Regular exercise, socializing with friends, using your brain, and enjoying yourself can make your golden years really shine.

Enjoy All the Benefits of Golf

The sun is out, the weather is mild, and youve got the day free. If you love golf, you probably think this is the perfect time to break out those clubs.

9 Ways to Be a Better Girlfriend and Keep Your Boyfriend Interested in You

9 Ways to Be a Better Girlfriend and Keep Your Boyfriend Interested in You

9 Ways to Be a Better Girlfriend and Keep Your Boyfriend Interested in You

1. Have something more important in your life other than just your boyfriend. It can get annoying if the only thing you want to do is be together and do nothing else. Do something interesting that will occupy and keep your attention, something that makes you feel good about yourself and worthy. It can be a hobby, a sport, or just friends that are not mutual. Being too dependent on each other in a relationship can be annoying and can make you just too "clingy" eventually, which is annoying.

2. Give him space and freedom. A lot of men feel as if they were in a "cage" after being in a relationship for some time. Instead, let him feel and be free, you don't have to interrogate him every time he goes somewhere, who was he with, what did he do, why did he do it etc. Trust is the basis of a good relationship and the best way to keep your boyfriend. Let him have his space and his free time and he'll appreciate the time you are together a lot more. The best way to keep a guy is to keep the door open for him to leave if he wants.

3. Stop nagging, complaining and demanding. There's nothing worse than a girlfriend that's always looking for faults and "errors." Just like women, men want to be with someone that supports and appreciates them, and accepts them as they are. Women that are constantly trying to "change" a guy are ridiculously annoying and can only get a guy to hate you or feel weak for submitting. Nagging won't get you far, instead, talk, discuss things friendly, there's always another way to approach things. Be positive and think positively, in a relationship that you want to succeed, your goal has to be your mans success. If you really love a guy you want him to win, not to lose - so help him by supporting him and giving him energy instead of taking it away.

4. Be direct. There's nothing better than honesty. Speak your mind. A lot of women out there keep things in themselves and expect their boyfriends to "figure it out" or read their minds. Ladies - we are not Jedis, we can't read your mind. Being honest is the best medicine for a relationship, open and tolerant, without having to lie or play stupid games.

5. Treat him like a King. I can already hear some of girls screaming "Why doesn't he treat ME like a Queen first?!" That's a dumb way to think. You have to initiate things if you want results. Expecting things to "just happen" rarely works. Stop being selfish and blaming and expecting a guy to do everything in a relationship. Be supportive and your boyfriend will appreciate it. Give to get - that's what works. If you Really treat your boyfriend like a King in every way possible, he'll feel like a King next to you - and that feeling is addictive. So, he'll get addicted to you - and he'll do whatever it takes to keep you. Give to get ladies, that's the formula for successfully keeping your boyfriend in love with you. Treat him like a King and he'll return it tenfold.

6. Seduce him, over and over again. Just because you've already together for a year doesn't mean you should stop being spontaneous and seduce each other. Make your relationship playful, be seductive and sexy, flirtatious with him, a smile can do wonders. Surprise him whenever you can, make an effort. A good relationship takes work, so invest some time into it, it doesn't just all happen by itself.

7. Look good and even better than you did before. Work out, go running, do aerobic, yoga, pilates - whatever. Working out regularly will make you feel better about yourself and you'll be more attractive to him. The hotter you are the easier it is to keep a guy. It sounds shallow, but it's the truth. Of course, it's not the most important thing, but it's a good base. Take care of yourself.

8. Be more feminine. Really, acting though like a guy, swearing like sailor and not taking care of yourself is just not cool, at all. Believe it or not, a lot of guys out there would find you a lot more attractive if you were more feminine, sexy, smelling nice and taking care of yourself. There's not much more attractive than a scent of a beautiful woman and it will keep your boyfriend coming back for more all the time.

9. Give him amazing blow jobs. A girlfriend that knows how to give amazing bj's is one of the best girlfriends a guy can find. This may sound shallow, but it's the truth. If you can satisfy your boyfriend better than any other woman out there, he'll have a much bigger reason to stay with you (and please you back!). Most women are clueless in bed, and especially when it comes to oral. Learn this skill and learn it well and you'll see how much better your relationship will be almost immediately.

Author's Bio:

You can learn How to Give a Blowjob from Jack's website --> here . Jack is an insane blow job instructor that dedicated his life to a very very important mission - teaching women How to Satisfy a Man with oral sex, and therefore keep him and seduce him forever.
